INTRO TO MENOPAUSE THERAPY

A Holistic Approach To Menopause Counselling

Menopause doesn’t just affect your hormones; it can ripple through every part of your life. From sleepless nights, sudden hot flushes, and anxious thoughts to feeling like a stranger in your own body, the transition can feel overwhelming, isolating, or even invisible to others. But it doesn’t have to be that way…

Whether you’re in perimenopause and just starting to notice changes, or further along in your journey, this therapy offers more than just symptom relief. It’s a space to reclaim your energy, balance your emotions, and reconnect with yourself with effective tools. Blending CBT, somatic support, and holistic guidance, I offer a personalised approach designed to help you feel clearer, calmer, and more like you again. This is support for your whole self through every phase of the transition.

 TECHNIQUES I USE

Scientific Approaches I Utilise

My approach to menopause treatment is simple: it focuses on practical strategies with deep emotional work, addressing both immediate symptoms and underlying patterns. Typical techniques I use include:

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

CBT helps clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress, empowering them with tools for real-time coping and long-term change.

Creative Therapy

Through drawing, journaling, and narrative techniques, clients explore identity, body image, and emotional expression in non-verbal, empowering ways.

Mind-Body Awareness

This approach supports people in tuning into physical signals, such as hot flushes or sleep disturbances, to reduce stress responses and restore balance.

Mindfulness, Breathwork & Grounding

Gentle somatic practices help regulate the nervous system, calm anxiety, and anchor clients in the present moment during hormonal transitions.

 Benefits Of Therapy For Menopause

Menopause treatment can significantly improve quality of life by addressing physical and emotional symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and hormonal imbalances. By providing targeted relief, it helps women navigate this life transition with greater comfort, confidence, and health.

THERAPEUTIC PROCESS

Your Online Menopause Treatment Journey in 4 Easy Steps

  • Book your first consultation online via the contact form. You’ll receive a warm, detailed response within 24 - 48 hours, with evening and weekend appointments available to suit your lifestyle.

  • Your first session offers a safe and informal space to explore what’s brought you to therapy - whether that’s mood swings, emotional intensity, or navigating the deeper changes in how you relate to yourself and your life during the menopausal transition. Together, we’ll talk through your history, goals, and personal experiences so that you feel truly heard and supported from the very start.

  • To help you get the most out of therapy, we’ll begin with a commitment to a minimum of 10 sessions - usually held weekly or fortnightly - creating a steady foundation for your journey. You’ll receive a clear outline of what to expect, including session structure, boundaries, fees, and cancellation policy, along with a working agreement to support mutual clarity, trust, and a shared sense of purpose.

  • We start your menopause therapy with regular 90-minute sessions that blend evidence-based techniques like CBT with creative, body-based, and mindfulness tools. Throughout, you’ll receive practical resources and the unique, calming presence of Ember, my trainee therapy dog, to help you feel emotionally regulated and deeply supported.

AFTER THERAPY

How Life Looks Like After Menopause Counselling

Through menopause counselling with me, women often experience a renewed sense of emotional stability, self-understanding, and confidence in navigating life changes. They gain practical tools to manage anxiety, mood shifts, and overwhelm, while healing deeper patterns rooted in identity, attachment, and self-worth. Most importantly, they begin to feel more like themselves again, empowered to move forward with clarity and purpose.

 MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Hi, I’m Alicja,
your Go-To Therapist in Jersey

I’m someone who carries both fire and gentleness, with the heart of a healer and the mind of a strategist. I’ve walked through burnout, grief, major life changes - not untouched, but reshaped. These experiences didn’t break me; they clarified my purpose. They taught me how to hold space for pain, for hope, for truth, and for healing.

I’m trained in creative and integrative approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic work, meditation, Thought Field Therapy, and energy-based practices like Emotion and Body Code. What this means is we don’t have to stay in one lane. We can draw from what works for you. Whether it’s grounding breathwork, therapy cards, nervous system regulation tools, or quiet reflection, each session is shaped around where you are and what you need.

I don’t believe in fixing people. I believe in walking alongside them - gently, honestly, with depth and care.

Creativity is woven through everything I do. It’s how I understand the world, and how I invite others to explore theirs. Therapy with me might include colour, metaphor, art, movement, or simply a different way of looking at something. You’ll also receive thoughtful tools, printouts, and practices to carry into your day-to-day - because healing doesn’t stop at the end of the session.

I’m a mother. I love all animals. A passionate advocate. A bit quirky. Deeply human. I believe in softness, structure, humour, and soul.

And I will always, always hold hope for you, especially when it feels hard to hold it for yourself.

FAQs on
In-Person & Online
Menopause Treatment

  • Yes, online therapy is a highly effective way to treat the emotional and psychological symptoms of menopause, including anxiety, mood swings, low self-esteem, and overwhelm. With the right therapeutic support, such as CBT, mindfulness, and holistic tools, women can access meaningful relief and long-term coping strategies from the comfort and privacy of home.

  • While I do not prescribe medication, many reputable menopause clinics and telehealth providers now offer online consultations with doctors who can prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT) where appropriate. My therapeutic services can complement HRT by addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of menopause that medication alone may not fully resolve.

  • Treating menopause at home involves a combination of self-awareness, lifestyle adjustments, and emotional support. Techniques like breathwork, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and online therapy can significantly ease symptoms. Working with a therapist can help you build coping tools, regulate your nervous system, and process the deeper emotional changes that often accompany this life transition.

  • The most effective treatment depends on each individual’s needs. For many, a combination of approaches, such as hormone therapy, psychological support, and lifestyle changes works best. Therapy plays a vital role in helping women understand their experiences, manage mental health challenges, and build emotional resilience during menopause.
